I. Original Character (OC) Figurines
How does the OC creation & approval process work?
We keep you involved every step of the way to ensure we nail your vision. Our process works in three approval stages:
- Stage 1: 3D Modeling: We use your references to create a digital 3D sculpt and send you images. You get to request minor tweaks and approve the geometry before we move forward!
- Stage 2: 3D Printing: We 3D print, sand, and prime your character. We send you a photo of the physical piece for your approval. (If you ordered an "Unpainted/DIY Kit," we ship it after this stage!)
- Stage 3: Hand-Painting: For Masterpiece orders, our artists hand-paint your figure. We send you final photos for your ultimate approval before shipping.
How big will my custom figurine be?
Depending on the size option you select when ordering, your custom figurine will measure between 9-10cm and 13-14cm on its longest/tallest side.
What does the "Unpainted" option mean?
If you choose the Unpainted (DIY) option, we will fully 3D sculpt and print your character, and then coat it in a professional primer. We ship it to you perfectly prepped and ready for you to paint yourself!
What kind of reference images do you need for an OC?
The more angles, the better! Ideally, we love seeing a front, side, and back view of your character. However, if you only have one sketch, our artists will use their creative judgment to fill in the unseen details. Please make sure any specific weapons, accessories, or clothing details are clearly visible in the references.
How much can I change from the original drawing/references?
We aim to replicate your provided references as closely as possible. During the 3D sculpt approval phase, you can request minor modifications to small sections (like adjusting the size of an ear or tweaking a facial expression). However, we cannot change the core pose, the overall look, or add entirely new assets once the sculpt has started. If you need specific details, please provide clear sketches of them at the time of your order.
What if I don't like the 3D design?
We model the 3D file to exactly match your sketch (if we need to tweak a pose slightly for structural strength, we will consult you first). During the process, we send you a side-by-side comparison render of our model and your art. If you still don't love the result, we will send you the 3D file to keep (because it's your character) and refund 80% of your total price.
Will you resell my art or feed it to AI?
Absolutely not. We are a studio of real artists, and we know exactly how much your creation means to you. We only keep your artwork and 3D files on our secure drives for 2 weeks (just in case you want to order a duplicate). We will never resell your design, share it on any platform, or feed it into AI engines. We will only ever post your figure on our social media if we ask for your explicit permission first and you say yes.
What materials do you use?
We use specialized 3D printing resins and high-quality, eco-friendly PLA (polylactic acid) plastic, depending on the level of detail required for your specific character.
What kind of paint do you use?
We exclusively use premium Vallejo brand paints. This ensures a safe, non-toxic, vibrant, and archival-quality finish that will stay bold and beautiful for years to come.
II. Childhood Drawings to Figurines
How does the magic work?
Stage 1: 3D Modeling: We turn your drawing into a digital 3D sculpt and send you images of the model. We only move forward once you love it and approve it!
Stage 2: 3D Printing: We 3D print, sand, and prime your physical figurine. We send you a photo of the crafted piece for your approval before we start painting.
Stage 3: Hand-Painting: Our artists paint your figure to match the original art. We send you one final set of photos for your ultimate approval before we safely pack and ship it to you!
What kind of drawings or images do you accept?
We accept almost anything! Crayon, marker, pencil, watercolor, or digital art. The most important thing is that the photo you upload is taken in good lighting and shows the whole character clearly without anything blocking it.
What if my child's drawing has multiple characters or objects?
A "custom figurine" refers to one primary object or character. If your drawing contains multiple distinct items (for example: a car, a dragon, and two people), this would be considered three separate figurines. Please contact us at wizard@ostaneskids.com before ordering so we can discuss the best way to transform such a complex scene!
Is the custom figurine a toy?
No. Our custom figurines are crafted as decorative art pieces and keepsakes, meant to be displayed proudly on a shelf or desk. Because they are 3D printed and hand-painted, they can have delicate parts that may break if played with roughly. They are not intended for young children to use as toys and could present a choking hazard if broken.
Are the materials safe, and will it break easily?
Yes, safety is our priority! We use strictly safe, non-toxic materials (eco-friendly PLA and resins). During the 3D sculpting phase, our artists purposely thicken out very thin parts (like stick legs or thin wings) and remove sharp, pointy objects to ensure the final piece is sturdy, safe to handle, and won't break easily.

What happens if my figurine arrives damaged?
We take great pride in our Forge and pack everything carefully, but shipping can be rough. You MUST record a video when you first open the sealed package. If you provide the video within 7 days of delivery, we will happily forge and ship you a free replacement. If there is no unboxing video provided, a minimum production fee (50% of the item price) will be required to remake the piece.
How does your refund and cancellation policy work?
Because every piece is 100% custom-made from your personal artwork, our refund policy depends on the exact stage of production:
Phase 1: Digital 3D Sculpting (1–3 Business Days)
- 100% Refund: If you cancel before our artists have started your 3D sculpt.
- 80% Refund: If you cancel after the 3D sculpt has been completed and sent to you for approval. (This 20% covers the digital design labor already undertaken).
Phase 2: Crafting & Finishing (Physical production only begins after you give your final approval on the 3D sculpt).
- 40% Refund (DIY Kit & Masterpiece): If you cancel while your figure is actively being 3D printed, sanded, and polished.
- 30% Refund (Masterpiece Only): If you cancel while your figure is actively being hand-painted by our artists.

Do you have a particular concern?
I get it. Entrusting your child’s precious drawing or your original character design to a wizard on the internet can feel a bit daunting! If you have any questions about the process or just need reassurance that your art is in safe hands, send me a message.
I'd much rather you be confident than concerned.
